Reaction

Surveys have shown that 64% of the undergrads in NUS have sex at least once a week, and hostels and toilets are the preferred places for this.

So what?

I'm not surprised that it's higher. Either that, or most of the 36% is lying.

But seriously, at the age of like 19-23, hormones are raging. You can't possibly think that a group of guys and girls who stay in the hostels, with hormones raging, study together every single day? Of course there's other things happening, like sex.

I think there are rules that the door must be open when a guy and a girl are in the same room, but the rules didn't say that they cannot have sex.

So what should we do? Should the school add the rule, stating that there should be no sex in the hostels and toilets? Add CCTVs in every room and every toilet? If this happens, I bet no one will want to stay in the hostels anymore. Either that, or they'll choose to have sex in more exotic places like the classrooms, the halls or even carparks.

But really, just leave them alone. What's wrong with this? The school can't do anything to stop it, and they shouldn't do anything to stop it either. None of them are underaged, so it ain't against the law. But if you think that it's against the ethics, then I fully agree. SO, the moral of the story, stay out of the hostels if you feel that it is morally wrong. But if you feel like joining them, then go ahead.

I'm just glad that SIM does not have hostels. Even if they do, they'll probably be taken up by all the foreign students. All those rich Indonesians especially. I wonder if the numbers will be higher when hostels are built for SIM and surveys such as this one are done.

Let's wait and see.
